- Gretchen Whitmer, previously the favorite at +550, has drifted out to +1000 on the same board.
- Hillary Clinton slid from +650 to +900 on the vice presidential board, and Kim Kardashian went from +1100 to +2000.
- Ocasio-Cortez is also tied for second on Bovada’s 2028 Democratic presidential odds, behind Gov. Gavin Newsom’s +375.
NEW YORK – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is now the betting favorite to be the Democratic Party’s 2028 vice presidential nominee, priced at +700 on Bovada’s odds board. Her rise came after Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s price drifted from +550 out to +1000, the steepest slide among the board’s contenders.
The Board’s Quiet Reshuffle
Ocasio-Cortez’s climb to the top of the board came from the field around her, not from a sharp move on her own number. The three names beside her moved more than she did. Whitmer’s price went from +550 to +1000, the steepest fade among the board’s contenders and enough on its own to hand Ocasio-Cortez the top line. Hillary Clinton slid from +650 to +900. Kim Kardashian, a longer-shot novelty entry on the same market, fell from +1100 to +2000.
| Candidate | Odds | Implies |
|---|---|---|
| Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez | +700 | 12.5% |
| Gavin Newsom | +900 | 10.0% |
| Hillary Clinton | +900 | 10.0% |
| Gretchen Whitmer | +1000 | 9.1% |
| Kim Kardashian | +2000 | 4.8% |
A favorite built on the field fading is a different proposition than one built on new backing. Whitmer’s ticket still pays more than Ocasio-Cortez’s for anyone who thinks the market overcorrected on her, and Ocasio-Cortez remains the shortest price on a board with no formal running-mate vetting behind any name on it yet.
A Second Line, Same Board Family
Bovada also books the 2028 presidential election odds as its own market, tracked alongside the site’s broader election odds coverage. Ocasio-Cortez is tied for second there at +400 with Sen. Jon Ossoff, both trailing Gov. Gavin Newsom’s +375. Newsom carries the opposite split from Ocasio-Cortez. He leads the presidential line at +375 but sits behind her, tied with Clinton at +900, for the No. 2 slot.
